The Two Types of Mopar Brake Systems

This system employs brake calipers that clamp down onto brake rotors when the fluid pressure builds up. That creates the friction needed to slow your tires. Since the calipers and rotors are made of metal, their contact is cushioned by brake pads that attach to the calipers ends.

Drum Brakes

Drum brakes, on the other hand, feature brake shoes and brake drums. The fluid forces the drum and the shoe to compress together to produce the necessary resistance.
